Ingredients

  • 1 large French bread loaf
  • 1 lb thin-sliced ribeye steak
  • 1 large sweet onion sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter for veggies
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 10 slices provolone cheese
  • Garlic Butter:
  • 6 tbsp softened butter
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp parsley

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Sauté onions + peppers in butter until caramelized.
  3. Sear ribeye in hot skillet; season well.
  4. Add veggies + steak together with Worcestershire and mix.
  5. Stir in 4 slices provolone until melted.
  6. Slice loaf through the center (not fully).
  7. Mix garlic butter and spread inside generously.
  8. Toast inside for 5 minutes.
  9. Stuff loaf with filling.
  10. Layer remaining provolone on top.
  11. Bake 10–12 minutes, then broil 1–2 minutes.
  12. Let rest, slice, enjoy.

Notes

  • Thin-sliced ribeye melts in your mouth—don’t substitute thick cuts.
  • Pre-toasting the bread prevents sogginess.
  • Use provolone for perfect melt and flavor.
  • Broil carefully—it burns fast.
